Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV Driving Range and Performance

Mercedes-Benz claims the EQS SUV will be able to deliver a driving range of over 600 kilometers or roughly about 372 miles, according to the WLTP cycle.

The EQS SUV is able to achieve these performance numbers thanks to its eATS electric drive train and modular drive concept, which allows for a wide range of maximum total drive outputs ranging from 355 hp to 536 hp. With this impressive range and impressive variable output of up to 536 horsepower, the EQS SUV meets the requirements of a luxury SUV in terms of performance and drive system.

Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV’s Intelligent Power Regeneration

The EQS SUV also employs intelligent energy recovery through regeneration to maximize efficiency. The EV allows the driver to manually select the deceleration in three levels – D+ (sailing), D (standard regeneration), and D- (strong regeneration) using paddle shifters on the steering wheel.

There is also a DAuto level where the EV’s ECO Assistant offers situation-based regeneration. In this mode, the vehicle drives in sailing mode or decelerates in such a way that the bottom line is the most efficient and comfortable driving style possible. The driver is also shown an indication on the instrument cluster when it is advisable to take his foot off the accelerator pedal due to an upcoming event. If the driver follows this indication, the EQS SUV decelerates with the greatest possible energy recovery rate until it comes to a standstill, in case there is a vehicle in front, thereby offering a one-pedal driving experience and maximizing efficiency.
